23 fit under the hatch with back seat down and front seats adjusted around mid travel so the front of the tracks even with front of the seat.
Bear in mind, the file boxes are slightly shorter, so the last two in the back may need to be file boxes.
27 (a prime number) if you add 5 more in the passenger seat and maintain good visibility.
Oh but I like even numbers. The 28th file box only barely fits in the Frunk. The frunk is small!
