I used to find the GOM reasonably close to reality (compared to my calculations based on mi/kwh), but since receiving the 3.6.2 OTA update, I've found it to wildly overestimate (IMO). For example, on my first drive after the update, the car had mysteriously decided to charge to 100%, and the GOM was showing a range of 260 miles--with no preconditioning or anything. I would be thrilled to get that kind of winter range, but that would equate to about 3mi/kwh, and given that the temperature was 25 degrees, I didn't see it happening.

I know better than to rely on the GOM so it's not a big deal, but I find it a little ironic, since the update was supposedly meant to improve range estimates.

Anyone else see similar counter-intuitive results?

The update likely reset your driving history. Give it some time to relearn.

My experience is exactly the opposite. Prior to 3.6.2 the range calculation for my awd-er premium severely underestimated my range, to the tune of 70+ miles at 100%. Now it’s pretty darn accurate.

Yes, I also noticed issues after 3.6.2 in that the climate usage is severely overestimated if anything is active at the beginning of the trip - even just the steering wheel warmer. This morning it told me 40% of the trip energy over a 4 mile journey was to climate control even though nothing was on!
