If the problem didn't happened before when you dropped off the car, maybe something happened to that rotor when they removed your tire. But that doesn't affect all 4 rotors. Have an independent mechanic check all the rotors.

Do they have rust on them? EVs are known to get rust on the rotors because the use of one-pedal driving does not engage them to keep them clean.
I am thinking the same thing.

Do you park your car outside, under a car port or in a garage? unless the rotors warped, I really don't see why they would need to be replaced. I think since your Mach E is not driven much; I would turn off regen breaking. You will wear the pads down faster, but it will also help keep rust off the rotors and prevent them from warping.

I'm an owner of a 2021 MachE with 9700 miles. When the new key was offered, I brought the car in with 9400 miles and asked if they could do the 10000 mile check. They reported brakes at the time were normal. Two months and 300 miles later, I was told all 4 rotors were broken and needed replacement. Not covered by warranty. I'm an ignorant grandmother who drives like a grandmother (no heavy braking, speeding, etc.) I live in south Florida and it's hot, but I've never had this issue with any other car. Can someone explain to me how this could happen? Thank you.
Go to a different dealer. Sounds like you're being scammed.

Okay, so it wasn't clear, you've already had the work done?

If so, I'd bet they did no work at all and did not change any brake components. My advice is take the car to an independent mechanic and have the brake rotor thickness measured and the pad thickness measured. If the work was done recently there should be no measurable difference in the rotor and pad thickness from new parts. If there is a measurable difference, then the dealership ripped you off.
Good advise. Thank you

It’s in a garage. But again we’ve been having a lot of rain. I’ll try turning off regen breaking. Thank you

Not fully no, but you can reduce it. Turning off one peddle and keeping it in unbridled mode are the two ways I know of.
That won’t reduce regen. The MME has blended braking, which means that when you press the brake pedal, it will use as much regen as possible before engaging the friction brakes.

Even if you could turn of regen, that wouldn’t have anything to do with preventing rotors from warping. It’s not the rust formation that warps the rotors. And she’s not driving in a way that would warp or crack them, either. It sure sounds like the dealer is trying to scam her.
The only unique care the brakes on a MME need is every month or so, put the car in neutral at 50mph and brake moderately. That’ll keep the rust off.

Too bad this has already transpired, I would say go ahead but demand the take offs and watch them sputter about core charges and other such lies.

Always advise them that you want the removed parts when you pick up the vehicle. They sell the rotors to a scrap dealer. Or at least make them show you the removed parts. That way they know up front they are being watched and their diagnosis can be verified.

Based on experience with my wife, she complains about brake noise I can never hear. Are you hearing any noise when you apply the brakes?

It might help if you post some well-lit closeup pics of each wheel (the spoke area) so we can look over the surface of the brake rotors.

Brake rotors are quite difficult to "break". As others have stated, given you reside in Florida, there is a good chance the salt air accelerates accumulation of surface rust on the brake rotors (assuming you live near the ocean or GOMEX).

Once you determine the issue is just surface rust, the best protocol to follow is every few outings, make sure the road is clear behind you and perform a few successive stopping events from 60 MPH to 30 MPH in a rapid manner to exercise the brakes. (Yes, I know it is against your grandmotherly nature ;) )
Don’t do the 60-30. Just shift into neutral while driving and start by lightly touch the brake pedals, progressively putting more pressure. It’s safer and much better for your rotors, plus you get more rust removal since regen braking is still going to take most of the force.

Well several weeks ago I got in the car, started it, put it in "D", heard a loud thump from the rear......drove it around the block and did heard a thump, thump, like when you drive with a flat tire......it was the brake pad, rotor issue......Ford has a TSB ( Technical Service Bulletin )on that issue since '21.....caused by a sub-standard pad......

I had a '21 Select with 27,000 miles, no problem, this car is a '23 Premium built in May '23.....I thought the problem had been fixed with an updated brake pad.....and the repairs were covered by warranty!!!!!.......I would go back to dealer and ask about the TSB, look up the number so you have your info.....

BTW, the photos on the TSB, looked exactly like the damage on my rotors......

If you wanted to use the friction brakes wouldn't be much easier to turn off one pedal drive and go for a short trip. Maybe a trip that would have 4-6 stops and if possible a long stop like a highway off ramp.

There is no regen when in Neutral.
