tried one in fairfield, ca, and couldn’t get it to work. The store keeper wasn’t interested either. Would love it if service got better.

The bad thing about 7-Eleven is that most locations will not allow people to use the rest room. Thats a problem seeing how long it takes to charge. Plus 7-Eleven and store like that what you in and out quick. They make their money by big turnover of customers. Quick stops buy a soda and some chips etc... Those charging spots could be used for quicker in and out customers.

This is owned by the store owner it seems I don’t know why they won’t let you use the restroom. Maybe that’s a regional thing? I honestly haven’t been inside a 7-11 in 10 years

To be fair, 7-11 employees have never been known for their friendly and helpful demeanor..

Here is a video of charging at 7-11. They even say it's 7-11 policy not to allow people to use the bathroom. Same problem I had in Chicago and DC.

My car has its own restroom when traveling right beside the windshield cleaning supplies. Our chargers are way out in the back of a parking lot somewhere near nothing.

More chargers the better, but I can't think of a 7-11 that I'd want to loiter 20+ minutes at.

First time I’ve seen this, looks like it just opened in my neck of the woods!

I think that this is a part of the State of Florida settlement for Diesel Gate. Florida provided grant awards using the Deisel Gate settlement funds to companies so long as they installed DCFC along hurricane evacuation routes.

There are multiple 7 Elevens around the state that will/should be getting DCFC dispensers and chargers. What’s frustrating is that Blink received some of these funds in 2021 and they still haven’t opened any of there DCFC locations. The grant agreement stipulates that DCFC operators have 2 years from the date of receiving the funds to open their stations.

If these work, I'd consider them great for commuters. A 10-minute stop at 90 kW would add about 45 miles, which is just about perfect for commuting and is about the right length of time any trip into a convenience store takes.
