status: ford US is writing proprietary software for my car now, and they are going to replace some other cable.
Please update with what cable that is exactly once you find out. If you tell me the part number or share the work description from the technician I can figure it out if you're not sure.

@EvPower2k11 im really sorry to hear that you are in exactly the same boat as i am.
Let me give you a update on my Donkey Mach-E:

As advised on this forum, I asked my garage to give a full history of what has been done.They won’t go as far as part numbers but I was lucky enough to receive an email with just the recalls and warranty claims i had.
That alone was an extensive list.

with that list i used LinkedIn and got a free premium trial so you can send messages to people that you don’t have in connections. Then I looked up one of the top persons at ford in my country and i sent him a long message with the list my garage provided. Also said i would put my lawyer on it ( he actually is) en was hestitating to post my story on socials.. of course he didn’t reply but i have a feeling it helped

i also approached my garage telling them it was time to reach out to ford netherlands for a field engineer.tip: tell them your lawyer is on it, you don’t want to sue them cuz they been helpful and probably sick of it as well, but ford “inset your country here” tells you that you need to go to your garage for legal claims. It will speed up things i

status: ford US is writing proprietary software for my car now, and they are going to replace some other cable. One or more of the steps I took worked ? I’m not satisfied yet, for that I want them to tell me they knew what was wrong with the car, what the piece of software is going to to do, and hopefully drive for longer then a week.

all of these steps were advised in this thread so big shout out to everyone who gave advice on how to approach this problem.

anyways, now that they are actually fixing things and more important, other things than they allready tried, I’m starting to get hope.

@EvPower2k11 : I’ll dm you with my vin once they completed the fix so you can refer to it and demand an equal fix

Hi, I try poking top Ford with Linkedin Prof within my area. But, the only one didn't response and i'm not surprise. I live in Canada, Quebec.

I don't think that Top US Ford care with a guy in Canada having a issue. Am I wong ?

To only thing I did, is call the ford customer line. They told me that they cannot do anything if the car is not in the dealer without the problem. So they confirm that if a bring it to them, then call the customer service again, they will keep tab on them. So it's the plan for now.

But considering the spring is starting, booking is full till this month. I received an appointment and will be testing the customer service line. The ford dealer told me to leave the car for the day. I said you will have it until you permanently fix this 4th occurence within the same dealer and the 3 other time on another one and I will not pick it up until then.

Open to other suggestion. PM If it's more appropriate.

I have scan all the dealer invoice from January 2024 till now concerning this problem. I can send you the file but need to remove some personal info if posted in here. But they change the contractor and stuff at least 4 times. The last time, having not clue with the ford tech line, they just reset it and told me to retake the car.

Code is alway P0ADA and the acceleration is greatly reduce. So the car is need to be drive carefully in snow because is not a 4 wd but more a propulsion.

I was not aware it becomes more dangerous and only rear wheel drive when the limp mode software kicks in. Good to know.

You bought it new/used, when? Your saga started on January 5, 2024. You are on your 5th (or 6th) HVBJB. Originally started with an A version replaced with a re-cored C version (maybe 2 on Jan 5 and 10 2024?) and then 3 E versions. The case steel must be getting thin with the type of bolts used that dig into the casing each time to seal it.

I assume that Ford knows this dealer and how many times they have completed this procedure successfully on others cars. I would have a tendance to send a fresh trained pair of eyes to ensure no honest mistake. Possibility you are the same as the OPer @banol and Ford is aware and working on the problem? We have no fix/response from them to date either.

I am on my third started in February 2021 and replace with another A version 04/18/22 then on 09/07/23 like your first (2?) replaced with a NK4Z-10C666-CRM which is currently installed. I do not put many miles on it and just hit 32,000 km (20,000 miles) so I am not a really good indicator of what is going on. Guess if it continues to happen for the full 8 years of warrant I know I bought a POS. The way I drive if it is not fixed it should show up again. The problem was not a huge one the response and time to fix it is not really acceptable anymore.

So no problems for the first owner? What was carried out on the car up until you bought it? You can get the paperwork/history on used vehicles in Canada carfax.ca. Good to do it before purchase. My last used one showed it was in the shop a number of times but not much of a description turns out it was one of the techs vehicles and he liked to play with it. His wife worked there also and they were excited to see it sold.

So it only started when you got it and after software was installed? The HVJB was not replaced in that recall? They preformed this recall after you took procession or before?

Update: they replaced two cables. The ones that connect to the batteries positive and negative. The mechanic told me together they add up the voltage and that should be 400V

on top of that they installed a software update. They asked me to drive it for two weeks and then ford would decide if the problem was fixed. I didn’t agree to that because the problem got much worse in the winter. I want to drive it for a full year to see if the fix will stand. Still waiting for Fords response on that.
So that’s where we stand now. Will do a quarterly update here!

thanks banal for the fix that they provide.

Right now mine was again repair by a ford dealer.
They reprogrammed all the electronic, retork the buzz bar, add prestone, etc.

When talking with the advisor, I was told that it was how I drove this car. Again with the cold battery, The GT has power limit not mine...., etc.

I said to him that overtaking car and other maneuver need to done fast for security and any car should be able to withstand a peek effort. The problem lies in ford programming and not my style of driving because issue happen too when crusing at normal speed.

I open a case with the customer ford support and will not drop the ball now.

Will keep us inform.

Indeed. The car should withstand normal use without overheating components.

I read somewhere a while ago but i totally forgot where (anyone?) that there would come a software fix for mach e’s that didn’t go correctly trough one of the early software updates for battery overheating. What i think they is that they approved that 1 to be installed on my car.
