Exact same trip, similar temperatures, one from Feb 2022 with my former Mach E Premium ER AWD and the other yesterday in my Ioniq 5. Data from CarScanner and BMS. Actual battery remaining charge and miles driven. Mach E used 42.4 kWh, for 2.25 mi/kWh. Ioniq 5 used 35.1 kWh, 2.66 mi/kWh. Only difference was 72F in I5 cabin and 1 more adult passenger and 68F in Mach E. 400# less, heat pump and front axle disconnect allow for a 15.4% efficiency improvement. So at 19-20F and 50 MPH average speed (Augusta to Bar Harbor Maine), the Ioniq 5 has a range of 75*2.66=200 miles. The 21 Mach E 88*2.25=198 miles. Pretty comparable Winter Ranges. It’s actually exactly what I expected. Not much difference between the two in overall range. just some less energy usage. I am anxious for a 5F day and I will duplicate a 140 mile highway trip for comparison.
