Anyone add the feature via FordPass for $$ ?

Ive been driving it without to get a feel for the car so i can appreciate the uplift when i enable it.

Problem is, I've found it exciting enough in the 90% of pedal mashing, mostly from merging and stops.
Highway is better than I first experienced. Over time, Ive come to appreciate what it has under the hood.

Question is - has anyone enabled theirs after getting it and driving a while, found it to be a noticeable improvement.
- somewhat
- nice
- awesome

Afterall $1000 (cdn) is $1000.
Were it a gas engine, one would say $1000 is a bargain compared to what you'd have to do to get another 100 ftlbs.

When you have 600, is another 100 significant?

It's significant! Go for it. In a gas car is like adding a tune. You'll notice it!

$1K for more fun is like spending $10. Canadian or otherwise

With my previous 21 GT, WOT gripped pretty well on a dry paved road. With my 25 Rally, which is a GT with Rally package, I get some slipping from the front wheels, like the front end is lighter from the front end presumably lifting more from the added torque. Same CC2 tires, although the 21 had wider tires, 245 rather than 235. The rear motor is different between the 2, so maybe that adds to it. Is the extra 100 lbs of torque all in the rear motor, not the front?

I did.

Bought the car in early Dec and had a few issues with it, so didn’t want to invest the money till I was sure I’m keeping it.

Then drove on all seasons for 200 miles. Switched to winter tires and enjoyed the “low” torque all winter. Then switched to summer max performance AND a week later upgraded to the 700. Each step was an incremental improvement in performance. The most significant in terms of fun was the torque upgrade. You feel it right away, and it does make a big difference.

I’d wait till the spring (June for you Canadians 😉). You will break traction on winter tires. I’d also consider investing in summer tires as they will significantly improve your experience. I can’t break traction with summers. The car will squeal as you break the tires in. But once they have a few hundred miles on them, they stick like crazy.

All around, best driving experience I’ve ever had (and I drove a corvette in my youth).

I learned to set my head back against the headrest before punching the pedal in my Rally.

I never worry about being able to pass anything on the highway.

700 ft/lb = more smiles/miles

Well, I went for it. Saw the message its been enabled under the car image on the controls screen.
Initial reaction on a couple straights from about 40mph, I hit it, and didn't feel much extra. Stop lights there and back, 4 wheel peel both times .. ok, thats new.
7 deg C, roads damp (rained ~ 3 hrs ago) Stock a/s Conit's.
Gotta get more variety of conditions, but definitely more torque. Wheel spin has happened before, but rare. This was more prolonged, and spun both ends.
Got some highway driving tomorrow, hoping to giddy-up.

That prolonged spin is what gives you the 1/2 second faster acceleration and the feeling of being stuck to your seat. But you need better tires and nicer weather. It’s not a $1,000 upgrade. It’s a $3,000 one by the time you install Pirellis. One thousand down, two to go 😀.

"and so it begins .... you feel the need .... the need for speed"

Had a decent run today with a variety of roadways etc.

Weeeellll... This is what I'd hoped for. Finally some decent thrust for passing mode on the highway. Merging on a rainy day like today, spin and torque steer. So that could be construed as a negative, but wouldnt normally floor it in these conditions. Mid throttle rush is perfectly adequate now, when in traffic. Backroad spurts coming out of a corner .... more smile power.

Should be called the fun pack add-on.

Love it.

Appreciate the feedback folks... Just the wee push I needed to 'engage'. groan. :)

That's one handsome ride! Question - I've always wondered and haven't been able to find on the forum. Can you toggle the performance upgrade on and off? I assume this is the reason for the difference between the 280 GT and 265 Rally range estimates since Rally includes the upgrade by default. Are you permanently stuck with the lower range (and better performance), or can you toggle the PU on and off (like Unbridled Extended)?

You cannot turn it on and off. It has no effect on range with or without PU if driven in the same matter.

Rally gets less range because the taller ride height is less aerodynamic and it comes with tires that are not EV optimized (Michelin Cross Climate 2).
