Aero cover efficiency

Can anybody who’s done an aero cover delete on the GT flower petal wheels comment on what effect it’s had on efficiency? I’d love to get rid of them but with my commute I need all the range I can get. Thanks.

Aero covers usually make about a 4% difference in range at highway speeds. If you average less than 55 MPH they won't make as big of a difference.

Appearance wise there is very little difference with the covers off, so to me any range loss is not worth the appearance benefit. I briefly thought about taking them off until I saw Greg's thread.

Thanks. I agree the difference is relatively minor but I think it’s still an improvement. I do wish there was an OEM-style solution for the center cap.

That is not correct, aero covers are standard on California Route 1 trim levels.

The design of the Premium wheel is pretty flat-faced, so it doesn’t really need an aero cover. The majority of the rated range difference between the GT and GT-Performance Edition can be traced directly to the aero performance of the wheels. ??

I didn’t noticed any difference. Sincerely I don’t care about it. Because this wheels looks better with no aero covers, MME is very fun to drive with full throttle, on the market is a bunch of cars which are more suitable for efficiency. And hey it’s a “Mustang” not a Prius
