Hello all, I am needing to replace my rear underbody cover... as I foolishly drove through standing water a few years ago- and my wife is tired of my car going around with its flaps out...lol

I stumbled upon this facebook post that seems to show a 3rd party rigid replacement for the underbody rear and front cover.

However, I looked through what I could on comments and there is no more information on how to buy one... so I decided to ask here. I did do some searches on the forum and did not come up with anything - I apologize if this has been covered.

Thank you for the assistance!

I drove through water as well and have some damage, but was able to tuck it all back up at least with the pieces overlapping in the correct order and it doesn't seem to cause any issues. Mostly it ripped out some of the material around the fasteners but everything appears to keep together well enough for me.

I still sometimes think I should replace all the pieces. I worry it could degrade my efficiency, but I haven't notice any loss there.

I have never seen a 3rd party alternative for it. I would be interested to know more too.

Why not get the Ford OEM part? There are lots of online Ford parts stores that are less expensive that dealerships...

The OEM product is.. quite silly? Thick felt, for an undercarriage / cover? I am no car designer though so /shrug/

The facebook post again, does not give much info but seems to indicate the alternative is sheet metal, but also could be plastic. - it looks good on the install pic he showed.

So mostly, to have something that may be better than...felt that seems to get damaged quite often from other users even in "normal" driving - while mine was done via driving (many times) through water that was cresting over hood.... and it looks better.

Price? Eh, my dealer last time I asked it was about 500$ for the 3 main pieces that needed replacement - main center "T" and the two side parts - So I was just kind of wondering what this alternative is or others and costs etc.

Well it helps to have a co-worker that speaks Chinese.

https://www.taobao.com/list/item/aT...1wu.10013406.taglist-content.2.6534239d3RlEx1

It is apparently aluminum alloy

My theory is that in China the MachE has a metal (allum alloy) under body cover and not the felt and these are replacements / generics

He is asking his uncle that does import/export and is in mainland china how much it would cost to get one over here for me, he would just buy it from this site and then ship it over - but a fairly large but flat box- most likely will cost some $

The china version mache is longer than ours - but the guy on facebook imported his and it fit...so...depending on cost, worth a shot.

China does NOT have an aluminum rear undercover. Theirs is felt, same as ours from 2021-2024. Like I posted above, starting 2025, the OEM undercover are hard plastic. Any aluminum or metal covers are aftermarket. Ford does not make any metal covers.

Was just my guess - so if 25+ is plastic, then these are just aluminum knock offs - thanks for the information :)

I will see if my dealer will use the 25+ plastic for replacement vs my felt one.. got a part number? I shall endeavor to look!

Road noise... I guess that makes sense some...

thanks all!

The latest part number I could find for the rear undercover/splash shield is LJ8Z-5811782-F. This part replaces the original B, then E versions. I have no idea if this F version is the plastic one or not but it is the latest part number I could find for it. This part is for Premiums, GT, First Edition and Rally's. Select and CA1 original versions were A, then C and now D is the latest for those models.
