Apologies if this was posted already, I tried searching but didn't find anything.

Yesterday I received 10.1.0. Today while driving a route using Android Auto it showed my expected battery state at the destination, adjusting to my driving during the route. Is this new? Will this help with suggesting charging spots now during a trip?

I don't know, but I will certainly check.

But did you notice that when you start the car, the IPC uses the whole screen to show the SOC until you put your foot on the brake the second time? (like you are fixing to put it in gear)

I'm not sure if it was there before but like you I got 10.1.0. So, I just went to check and it does display estimated battery percentage with Android Auto navigation.

Yes, it was showing after new update. I guess it will do pre condition as well

I will double check the IPC behavior today

@Snakebitten , I don't see this happening on my car. As soon as I power on the car, the SOC bar shows up for a moment, then slides away.

Good to see others are seeing the battery integration showing up in AA as well.

There seems to be quite a lot of limits still within the Google Maps ecosystem, which will not replace ABRP, or even Ford's own route navigation.
- There is no way to create trips beforehand in Google Maps. You can only do it once you're in the car
- Once Google auto-selects charging stops for you, it doesn't tell you what SOC you should charge to. It only tells you the time you will spend at the charger.
- It has a way to select NACS (Non-tesla), but that ignores all Tesla supercharger sites it seems. If you select Tesla in your compatible plug lists, it will list all Tesla superchargers, regardless of whether they're compatible or not with an adapter.
- There is no elegant way to select alternative charging stops yet. I see you can do it once you begin navigation, but it's a bit clunky. I prefer Ford's navigation system for that.

Can you try once more, but with a small caveat?

Immediately after hitting the start button, remove your foot from the brake.
Then does the full screen SOC stay intact without moving?

If so, then touch the brake pedal again and watch it arrange the IPC to its normal layout. Or let off the brake pedal before the IPC completely reconfigures and the full screen SOC returns?

Just curious. There's so much coding going on with these cars and there's so many combinations and variations possible. I was just curious if this was combined with the navigation feature changes you witnessed.

See video below. I released the brake pedal as soon as I pushed the start button. I did not step on the brake pedal at all afterwards. The bar retracts to the left for me.

(Trying to attach the video here)

Thanks!

Really appreciate the generous effort.
My pleasure. This car has a mind of its own. The video doesn't catch this, but when I shut down the car I had the blue animation (It started with orange, Engage). So in the matter of seconds my car swapped modes on me.

OK, I've been messing with Android Auto and Google navigation and can't seem to enable that estimated SOC to display on the Sync screen. I've tried a couple of different phones just to see if a more flagship version supported more features, but behaved identically.

Very interesting, considering the car is pretty much updated 100% across the modules.

I got my car update today. It is a really quick one (didn't lock out the car or say my car was going to be unavailable), and was labeled "10.1.0" ( not one of those long inscrutable ford things with letter and dashes).

The estimate shows up in Maps right where you had the screenshot - and sometimes when you have a list of destinations (not every time?), and always once you have a destination set. It never showed up in the list of chargers. I mean, if you're looking for a charger, why would you want to know the ones you can get to :p . Hopefully they'll fix that.

The estimate was funny today, in that the initial estimate was very conservative, then after about 4 minutes driving, it snapped to a much better estimate, which ended up being on the money. It was even slightly more accurate than ABRP in this one particular case (but they were very close). The numbers were (essentially) 26% on arrival was the correct answer, Maps said 22% at first then snapped to exactly 26%, and ABRP said 27% all along.

I thought, for a moment, that ABRP also was using the same interface, but I did some testing and I think ABRP is not yet updated to use the interface (I used the bluetooth dongle to get its estimates). I imagine they'd push an update pretty quick that gives them access to the same info without the dongle?
