I cannot get it out of screen 1, how do you change it? I don't want to see the map at all if I'm not using it.

Update: at some point in the last few months, Waze has been updated and can go into full screen mode just like Google Maps does.

Color me a happy camper ;-)

Same. I would rather see anything but, or have the option to minimize it until I need it.
