Saturday evening I drove through a construction zone not too far from my house (7-8 minutes more to get home!) when I got broadsided at an intersection. Fortunately, both the other driver and I were not hurt. It could have been a lot worse. Turns out his wife and toddler son, who arrived later to pick him up had, by chance, not gone on an errand with him and been in the car.
I’ll forever be grateful for the “no one was hurt” and “his wife and son weren’t in the Civic” aspect of this unfortunate incident.
Thank you @Ford Motor Company for the excellent safety features you build in to the MME. They allowed me to walk away with only a half dollar-sized bruise and some soreness today, but my now totaled 2024 MME (with under 10k miles) wasn't so lucky. Nor was the other guy's Honda Civic as he was unable to avoid my not-perfect-at-all intersection entry.
Wish I could have snapped a photo of the passenger side of the MME as it took the brunt of the impact. Look at that right rear wheel! There was too much traffic so the on-scene police would not allow me to walk out to snag a photo. (See UPDATE below as I got snaps).
Below is the other guy's Honda Civic. Yikes!

Stopped over to the towing spot and got all of items out of MME. Also took some snaps I couldn’t get Saturday evening:
