Saturday evening I drove through a construction zone not too far from my house (7-8 minutes more to get home!) when I got broadsided at an intersection. Fortunately, both the other driver and I were not hurt. It could have been a lot worse. Turns out his wife and toddler son, who arrived later to pick him up had, by chance, not gone on an errand with him and been in the car.

I’ll forever be grateful for the “no one was hurt” and “his wife and son weren’t in the Civic” aspect of this unfortunate incident.

Thank you @Ford Motor Company for the excellent safety features you build in to the MME. They allowed me to walk away with only a half dollar-sized bruise and some soreness today, but my now totaled 2024 MME (with under 10k miles) wasn't so lucky. Nor was the other guy's Honda Civic as he was unable to avoid my not-perfect-at-all intersection entry.

Wish I could have snapped a photo of the passenger side of the MME as it took the brunt of the impact. Look at that right rear wheel! There was too much traffic so the on-scene police would not allow me to walk out to snag a photo. (See UPDATE below as I got snaps).

Glad all parties were not harmed!!!

"the other guy's Honda Civic as he was unable to avoid my not-perfect-at-all intersection entry."
I assume from the above comment, you were at fault?? Care to explain in more detail???

Um...nope. Why? My Dad was an adjuster for a big insurance company his whole career and, as he always advised, "After a crash *only* talk to police about what happened when it comes to fault, even if you don't live in a no-fault State."

As we all know, our parents are *never* wrong. :giggle:

Sad the car is lost but I’m glad nobody got hurt.

That’s some quality glass in that rear door👌
Proving how tough these little electric cars can be in an accident reminds me of the Robert Conrad commercial where knocked the Dura cell or whatever that battery was off of shoulder😎

The language you used would suggest that you were at fault. I deducted the same thing as @67 Stang Convertible did. Glad you are okay and of course I empathize because I got into an accident this past weekend too. Luckily, the position and speed of the impact was way more favorable to me than yours. My pony is just bruised. But it destroyed the front end of that Lincoln.
