Anyone install Wheel Spacers?

Welp the set of Bonoss 20mm wheel spacers arrived yesterday. Got them installed, and I have to say it looks really good. Unfortunately, the rear tires make contact with the inside of the fender edge when the rear drops down on those types of conditions like transitioning over an overpass where the car drops down and then back up quickly. So disappointed!. I knew it was going to be really close. I was hoping the wheels would pull inward as they compressed with how the camber is setup, but not enough.

So yeah, I'll have to pull the spacers back off. If I had any adult passengers in the rear the contact would be unbelievable. I'm lucky I made it to work today with only a few touches.

I really like the aggressive wider stance though.

So in a nutshell. If you are running Eibach Lowering springs. 20mm is about 4 or 5mm too wide. Anything less than 20mm will require trimming the Studs or drill more material out of the rear pockets on the wheels.

I am going with a similar setup for my GTPE - without the lowering springs - 255/45 R20 with 20mm spacers all around. I will let you all know how it goes in a few days.

I installed 10mm hubcentric spacers on mine. Nearly 10k miles on them and no issues or wobbles. 10mm is probably the limit without longer studs or an extension spacer.

This seems to be the wheel spacer thread so figured I would mention the BONOSS wheel spacers (https://www.bonoss.com/home) I purchased and share some photos here instead start a new thread. Also mentioning the BSKT fender flares which is why I needed the wheel spacers for the front to begin with.

First, I have to say that BONOSS's customer service is excellent. I had questions about their wheel spacers and the materials used. I emailed them my concerns and within a short time received a reply back from Wall. Because I was going with a 15mm spacer which is somewhat thinner than 20mm or 25mm that most people use, I wanted to make sure the materials were going to be very strong. I didn't want the standard 6061 T6 aluminum that most spacers are made of. I wanted something more robust and Wall suggested 7075 T6 which is significantly stronger. On the lugs, many spacers use Grade 10.9 and again wanted something stronger, Wall suggested Grade 12.9.

Besides using high quality, strong materials, what is very important is making sure the spacer has an extended center pilot of the same diameter as the OEM hub to support the wheel. These wheel spacers with the upgraded materials, proper bolt pattern and center pilot diameter, BONOSS usually has in stock but they happened to be out of them. Wall said it would be a while before they would get more in stock (don't remember how long). I only needed two because I'm using them just on the front (will explain later). I wanted to get them within a couple of weeks and was thinking maybe I could just get by with the materials that were not as strong. A couple of hours later, Wall emailed me back that he could have the factory special build just my two spacers. I told him I didn't want them to go through all that just for two spacers and that I could wait. He said no, they could do it and it would NOT be an extra charge. I wanted to pay him a little extra for doing this but he would not accept it.

The spacers came in within two weeks and I am very impressed with their quality and design. On the back there are cooling channels (they call it Active Cooling) and the sides have a classy knurled finish. I ordered them in a satin black finish.

Ok, on to why I needed wheel spacers only for the front. I like a flush fitment just like many others here and of course this is why we add spacers. I order my custom wheels based on the car and tires I want to run so that the width and offset I choose gives me a flush fitment. I'm currently running a square setup of 21x9.5 ET40 wheels with 275/40R21 tires and I have a flush fitment all around. I decided to go back to my wide staggered setup and will be using my current wheels and tire sizes for my front summer and winter setup. I ordered a full set (4) of 21x11 ET40 rear wheels and will be installing 315/35R21 (summer and winter) tires on them. The wheels won't be in for a couple of weeks but since I just got the spacers in, I wanted to make sure they would fit properly on the front set, which they do.

I get asked why run such wide tires? Well, every time I'm behind a 2008-2019 BMW X5, X6, XM or 2016-2025 Porsche Cayenne, Panamera, Mercedes GLE/GLS Class or Lamborghini Urus, I really like the look of their meaty 315 rear tires. 275/40R21 front and 315/35R21 are the sizes that these cars run and I had this same staggered setup on my '21 GTPE back several years ago and really liked the look. Unfortunately in the rear, I had close to a 20mm poke which I didn't;t like and wasn't going to run this width again until I saw that BSKT had fender flares. They extend the fender trim out a bit allowing you to run wider tires without poke. There was another member here earlier this year that purchased some for his Rally and I liked their OEM look. If you didn't point it out, no one would know. The rear fender flare sits out about 20mm so I am hoping that after installing the 315's on the back, I would have a somewhat flush fitment. The front fender flares sit out about 15mm so adding the BONOSS 15mm spacers to a wheel/tire setup that is already flush with OEM fender trim I should be good. Tested them today and they have a perfect flush fitment.

Side note: I've mainly run Michelin tires on all my vehicles and sometimes Pirelli's. For the first time I am going with Vredestein for both summer (Ultrac Pro) and winter (Wintrac Pro+) tires. Brian here on the forum is a tire expert and recommended these and I'm very anxious to try them out.
