There won’t be enough treads on the studs.
That might be the case for one of those slip over spacers but we’re probably talking about the bolt on spacers

@Erik. The 15 mm left to much thread poking through. The back of the gtpe wheels didn’t have a deep enough pocket.

I’m working on confirming if 18s will work now.
I already know 20s will definitely work but I want to go just a hair under that hence the 18s.

I did 15mm bonoss spacers on my GT. Had to trim the bolts. Did make the wheels flush and I have 255s on my wheels now. So far no issues.

I’m hoping I can squeeze the 18’s on without issue. How hard was it to trim the stock studs?

I might just take the flowers over to the machine shop and make some 4mm pockets
If there is enough material. Got 3 ‘spares’ laying on the side yard so I can take a look at the material. I wish I could get 20x8.5 forged wheels for less than 3k. Though I still think I’d bend a wheel with the current state of i17

I should have taken pictures during the process. did not even consider it. Not too bad, had to make sure there was enough thread for a secure fit. There was not enough space behind the wheel like the GTPE wheels, as there is a bit more room. The GT wheels you cannot put the 15mm spaces without trimming, but the trim back was not too bad. Just torqued them up right and all has been good.

Of course if I ever have to take them off I will need to get new bolts, but they are not too expensive to replace.

I have had them on for about 5-6 months without issue. Recently changed the tires to 255/45/20 Pirellis (posted elsewhere). Here is the result.

Do the regular flower GT’s clear a 15mm? I’m in the spacers or wheels camp now. But wheels means tires too. Not sure I’m feeling the need for many thousands to be spent this month on Casper.
Both the flower and cross lace wheels have the same specs, so use of spacers should be the same, given the same tire choice. ??

Whatever you do, make sure the factory lugs clear ALL of the stock wheels. I put 20mm spacers on my Grand Cherokee a while back, everyone said the stock wheels would clear the lugs and it seemed to work fine. Apparently that was not correct on at least one wheel and a few months later it came loose and I almost lost a rear wheel on the way home from work. I took off the wheel and found indentations in the pockets on the backside that weren't on the other wheels.

Your avatar shows cross-lace wheels, so I assume you have a GT-PE. If that is the case, 18” wheels will not fit and some 19” wheels also will not fit over the brakes. If you have a non-Magneride car, 18” wheels will fit. ??

pics look great! It gives the MME that low wide stance I’m after!

yeah I have a GT and replaced the flower wheels recently. Also when I mentioned 18s. I should have clarified I was referring to the 18mm spacers not the wheels. ?

So I took my gtpe wheel off today and measured the stock studs and the depth of the pocket. The studs were like 29.xx so to be safe let’s go with 30mm. The pockets behind the gtpe’s are 10mm. So looks like 20mm spacers are the way to go at a minimum as long as you don’t want to trim studs or drill out the pockets larger.
I was going to go for 18mm spacers to help narrow the chance for my tires touching the fender since I’m lowered on eibach springs but this might create more work having to trim studs or pockets. I mean I guess I could dab some chalk or something on the studs and see precisely where they hit in the pocket and get a big enough drill bit to remove a couple MM. not sure if that would throw the wheel balance off to where now I’d have to go get them rebalanced.
might just get the 20s and call it a day. The camber angle makes the wheel go inward away from the fender edge as it compresses so should clear since others have gone with wider tires and lowered without issues.

??

Decided to go with 20mm. Bonoss does offer custom thickness but it's an extra $81 for me to have them do an 18mm. Don't see 2mm being big enough difference (less than the width of 2 stacked pennies) to worry about or worth the extra cost and headache to drill out a little extra material in 5 places on each wheel. Ugh.

Will post pics once I get them.

I'll hold out on ordering the 20's but figured that would be the way to go. I can fab up a drill press to drill the pockets but think I'd need to be at 20mm anyway as I have 245's. I just can't find it in me to spend a bunch more money on a wheel/tire combo currently. a 20x8 with 20mm more offset would be ideal and I would probably be able to justify a little less than $2k for new wheels. but new wheels, tires and tpms, not today. But maybe next week :)

I’ve installed Bonnos 20mm spacers on a 2022 premium with stock 19 wheels and tires. For a flush mount I had to trim 3 threads and taper each lug bolt.
Did you taper them so you could use the factory lug instead of the black one? I'm not excited about losing my chrome lugs if so.

(Oh and I found mas14 gets the price back under $350 for a set of 20mm's shipped)

Welp the set of Bonoss 20mm wheel spacers arrived yesterday. Got them installed, and I have to say it looks really good. Unfortunately, the rear tires make contact with the inside of the fender edge when the rear drops down on those types of conditions like transitioning over an overpass where the car drops down and then back up quickly. So disappointed!. I knew it was going to be really close. I was hoping the wheels would pull inward as they compressed with how the camber is setup, but not enough.

So yeah, I'll have to pull the spacers back off. If I had any adult passengers in the rear the contact would be unbelievable. I'm lucky I made it to work today with only a few touches.

:( I really like the aggressive wider stance though.

So in a nutshell. If you are running Eibach Lowering springs. 20mm is about 4 or 5mm too wide. Anything less than 20mm will require trimming the Studs or drill more material out of the rear pockets on the wheels.

Sorry I’m restarting this Thread, I recently bought a 2023 Premium, I want to put 245/55/19 on stock rims and I want the wheels and tires to poke out very slightly so I ordered the BONOSS 25mm spacers. Can anyone tell me if I will have to trim anything for this spacer?

Thank you
