Is it necessary to run the battery down to 10 or 20% to condition the battery to make it last longer. I know this was the case with PCs at one time.

I assume that you are talking about the HV battery pack. In this case, it’s a good idea to run it down below 20% and charge it to 100% once a year so that the management system can balance the cells. Generally, under normal circumstances you want to keep the State of Charge between 20% and 80% for an NMC pack (Extended battery or the early standard pack). ??

No. If you want your battery to last the longest, keep it under 80%, preferably in the 40-80% range (advice applies to NCM only, LFP packs are different). However I do recommend a 10-100% charge twice a year to calibrate the BMS.
