When I bought my MME, I personally decided that I didn't require the extra range as well as pay $2K more for it. My thought is that it wasn't worth the $2K for about 10% more range.

I did a lot of research but one thing I didn't "count on" was the difference in the batteries and there SOC. If you really are only recommended to charge to 80% with 91kWh (would be approx. 256) but can charge the 72kWh to 100% (approx. 250) - turn out to be closer that I thought. So, is it really worth the extra money to get the bigger battery?

For road trips it is! More range and faster charging speeds!

The bigger battery means more horsepower too!! (lower 0-60 times)

The 80-90% limit is for daily driving, where starting the day at 80-90% instead of 100% is not a big deal. I think even at 80-90% the big battery has about the same range as the smaller battery at 100%.

Also consider that the smaller LFP battery is more senstive to cold temperatures than the NCM extended range battery.

Yeah, even if I didn't need the extra road trip range (I do), the LFP is a dealbreaker up in Canada. Plus I don't really want to have to change my charging schedule to 100% "occasionally" just to calibrate the guess-o-meter.

I'm hoping there is a better cold weather alternative in the future that is more environmentally responsible than NMC, but for now ?
