Anyone have a good experience getting HVBJB replaced in Tampa/St Pete area or even maybe Central Florida? With the new proactive replacement recall, I'd like to find one that has done it before. But I haven't seen a lot of failures in FL for some reason on the forum.

I actually dread taking mine in to my local Clearwater dealer. Dealers seem so EV unfriendly. It's been a while since I asked last, but it was an automatic 3-days just to look at an issue. That's hard for a 1-car household. They never seem to have loaners. I will have to press the issue that Ford needs to pay for a rental.

AutoNation St. Pete gave me a rental with Enterprise a while back

BTW, Countryside Mall has a back lot that is fenced off and full of new cars of all brands. Dealer overflow? Anyway, as I looked over, I saw several MME's corralled wanting to get out.

Which dealer is yours, Walker or Ferman?

Do you know if they've done this repair switching out the HVBJB before?

No, I don't. I have only had my vehicle there 1x, just for tire rotation. Fingers crossed, no problems otherwise. I had trouble with my SIRIUS keeping on my playlist but got that figured out. That's where I got my 3-day in house repair from.

Cool, let me know if you get it done there. Is your car currently having issues or are you just planning for the new recall?

I just edited my earlier response. No problems other than keeping my playlist on SIRIUSXM on mine when I drive. Kept getting promotional list of stations. I will wait until I get my letter and then see what happens.

A good thing is they will have to change out any they may have on their lot first. Also at least they will also get the part prior to you taking in your Mach. So it should just be a one day turn around. My recommendation would be if your dealer has not done much then do not rush in when the recall comes out. Let a few others give them experience. Our local dealer has only sold a few EV’S and has only one tech but has doe a couple change outs and they went well. Luckily the tech is probably their best mechanic!

Is it a requirement with these recalls that they get the part first before making you come in?

I am not aware of any "requirement", but only a crazy/foolish/stupid dealer would take your car in knowing they didn't have the required part for a recall. The way the advanced notice is written, it doesn't sound like there will be anything to check or test to determine if your car will get a new HVBJB. Seems like if your VIN is on the list, you get a new part.

When I did my windshield recall at AutoNation St. Pete, they scheduled me for after they had the new windshield on site (mine was cracked and had to be replaced).

I’ve got Bill Currie Ford coming over next week to do a remote repair for the charge port CSB. They called me out of the blue (bought it there). That will be my first service with them. I’ll pump the guy for info.

I pretty much only trust Mullinax Apopka and Kissimmee for EVs. I like Sun State Ford but they aren't prepped for EVs.... forget about Tropical and Peacock.
