Oh yes. Less bouncy and more composed. Handles corners better and feels lighter although it is not.
I love my Mach-E described to the left. The ONLY thing I don't like is banging my head when going over a speed bump or street gutter. I would love to find a similar or even upgraded model with a "less bouncy" ride, even if if meant jumping from my 40+-year allegiance to Ford. I'm not a real "car guy" so I wonder why you feel the GT is "less bouncy." I would suspect a GT to be a stiffer sports car ride. After 25 years of Mustang sports car suspensions, I am now in the market for an "old geezer" ride. Smooth but still a lot of snap from the line. Looking for suggestions.

Hi Paul, there are many on this forum who could speak more intelligently about the technical aspect of this (@markboris being the leading voice). But my understanding is that the shock absorber on the premium is too soft and the springs are too stiff. This contributes to the bounciness of the vehicle because the shocks are not stopping the suspension travel quickly enough. On the GT model, the shocks are stiffer but adjustable to make the car feel very soft. But believe it or not, the most comfortable setting for me (driver) is the unbridled not the whisper. The vehicle also has wider tires which I think help.

But the model that gets better reviews for comfort is Rally, if you can handle the look of the vehicle (which to me is a boy racer look that I don’t care for).

Here’s the latest thread on suspension. Pay special attention to Mark’s posts where he describes the differences between models and modes he has made to help many on this forum:

Because magneride shocks.

It’s possible to combine a better ride quality with better handling due to adaptive shocks.

Us yoopers love our mustangs! Swear I first fell in love with the Mustang up in Houghton Michigan. I take it you’re from the UP? Happy new year.

I think white, gray, and black vehicles look horrible.

80% of people buy one of those 3 colors.

Looks are subjective.
For the last time. Promise. What's been the logic behind Ford rolling out the retro-look Mustang in 2005 using mixed-in/resurrected Steve McQueen video, evoking Bullitt (I ordered/received the first in Palm Beach County, FL, custom-ordered '05 GT); but never offering Highland Green in any model other than the Bullitt? Still committed to a new fully electric 2026 vehicle. Hoping for another Mach-e, but inarguably subjective range insecurities will be the determinant.

@Mach1E hit the nail on the head. Magneride allows the shock to control the unwanted harsh rebound that is present in the non-Magneride cars. 😁🐩

@GreaseMonkey is correct in stating that the shocks are under-damped for the rear spring rate. More correctly said, the rear shocks don’t have enough rebound damping for the spring rate and suspension travel. This allows the car to over-travel in the upward direction when going over bumps and sets up an uncomfortable oscillation in the rear suspension. The 2025 non-Magneride cars seem to ride better than the earlier cars. 😁🐩

Current thought process on the fix for this is to install the taller, softer springs from the Rally onto non-Magneride cars. The cars ride much softer and do not have the unwanted bounce. 🤔🐩

Alternatively, a GT-PE, 2024+ GT, or Rally would also be a fix. 🤣🐩

I had the tri tone yellow 2015 was so sad I couldn’t get it for the Mach E. That highland green would be great also. Bring back the colors! I’m tired of the boring choices.

Literally did not buy my Mach E until 2024 because it was the first time a dealer within 50 miles had a non white option on the lot for me to see.

You know the more I think about it, a lot of the guys on here will be like well. The first thing I’m gonna do is do the ceramic protection, blah blah blah whatever they do. I’m thinking buy the cheapest or no option color they have and just take the thing and get it wrapped and whatever color you want. I’ve seen a lot of wraps and they look like you can’t tell the difference and plus you’re getting protection for the body and you can always have it taken off just saying.

Thanks to all of the above and to you. Not nuts about doing any modifications to this unit. Might have to do a test ride in a GT or move away from Ford. At 87 yrs, I would not look right in a Rally IMHO. I think I am good for one more new car before they confiscate my keys. Loving the EV life.

Yes sir, a proud Yooper (always use caps) for 87 years. I had a Masters Degree in snow shoveling at age 10, before we used spark plugs to move snow. I'm from Ishpeming and will be driving the Mach-E there from Phoenix area next summer for my 70th IHS class reunion. That should be about a 5,000-mile round trip.

I'm not really interested in doing mods to this unit. Will try some test drives in a GT. I, like you, would look out of place in a Rally at age 87. If not happy, I may have to move from Ford but hve not seen any other options of interest, and none were mentioned here. I think I still have one more new car in me before they come for my keys. Tnx for your input.

For what it's worth-

As I understand it, as part of the decontenting at Ford, if you order a 2026 Rally you have to pay extra for the big spoiler, stripes and graphics.

So you could get the Rally suspension with a basic spoiler no graphics or kid racer look and also save $995. But I don't know if the Rally package is still $2,995 or higher separate from the $995 graphic and spoiler cost
