Hi

Assuming I do get the 1 year free subscription to the blue oval charging network how does it work? Is it operated by the ford pass app in terms of turn up at a charger and activate via the app or do you just plug in and that's all, it recognises your car? Over on the ford website one list includes Ionity and another list doesn't, anyone know if Ionity are?

I am having issues with the fordpass app, when I select the map and the EV chargers and then click on one I just get 'loading' which it appears others have had but was fixed with an update, well not on my Samsung fold 3 it isn't, latest OS, app etc. So if I need the EV map to work to select the charger I am screwed.

i believe get an RFID card to use at those chargers in the network. Note that you are charged “pay-as-you-go” prices by the networks, unless you’ve opted in for BP, then you get BP member prices.

if I’m wrong, would love to be corrected by more knowledgeable members of the forum!

Umm that's not my understanding of use of the blue oval charging network.

Fords website regarding this is woeful and the salespeople know less than I do (which is next to nothing)

Again off the ford website
'Enjoy free access to the FordPass BlueOval™ Charge Network too, with discounts* at NewMotion and IONITY charging stations.'

It really is not a thing. More like Ford allows Electrify America plug and charge with free a free juice balance.

You can set up the same with EVGo but no Ford involvement there.

Just my experience.

The Ford in car route planner works well tho.

USA and UK Ford offerings vary so what you get over the pond seems to be fairly irrelevant to UK owners.
I've read that UK owners get 1 year subscription (after that it's approx ÂŁ150 a year) to access blue oval charge points at discounted rates, the rates appear to be at least 20% off pay as you go rates.

There should be an RFID in the glovebox that you can link to your account - this will allow you to use in network chargers by tapping on the actual chargepoint. You have to set-up a payment card behind it on your Ford account. This works really well with BP Pulse I find. Ionity should be plug and play, but i only used it once and it didn't start automatically, but did start using the app to kick it off. The pricing is really competetive compared to "joe public" prices.
I got a message saying the access to the blue oval network is now included for the time I own the car (but I think it's still only 12 months with Ionity) but the BP network has been really good for me so far, at 36 or 45 p per KWH.
