So I installed the Borla Active sound system yesterday. I haven't got to play around with it to much or get videos, I'll try this week. Would love to hear it outside the car but it does sound decent and loud on the interior. The accuracy is off a bit at very low coasting/parking lot speeds and shifting but it's brand new and hope Borla has some tweaks.

However I was wondering if there is a diagram for disassembling under the steering wheel because the instructions on where to mount the processor is unclear and I currently have it just dangling at my feet which bugs the hell out of me.

Hope to get updates to you all on this soon.

Sorry, hoping to have videos of this by this weekend. With work and being dark by 4:30 been tough.

I think this is really cool tech.

I largely agree with the ethos that sound functions as source of communication between the driver and the vehicle. So I'm with them on that part.

The part where I start to fall off, is making an MME sound like an ICE car. I love that the technology is there and I'm happy for the people that want it. I'm just looking for the aspect to make me want it as well.

I wish Borla placed more emphasis on the Non-ICE car audio, it always comes off as a minor bullet point that gets forgotten about, when I feel it should be a major selling point. To me, that feels forward facing in the market and a better alignment with their potential customers, at least a larger segment of EV enthusiasts.

There's such a strong potential for this product to say: Hey, would you like to add a wider range of audio options like you might find in a BMW i5/7? or an Ionic 5/Genesis/Kia? This product unlocks that potential, giving you more than just the 1 option Ford gave you.

As it is right now, I feel like a lot of people don't realize it can do that in addition to the ICE sounds, and I'm not even sure they're really going to invest there since I haven't heard any examples in their marketing.

Once you make a video, I would love to hear some of the non ICE engine options, or get your take on what the ecosystem looks like.

Hey, Thirsty... Question, I am considering the borla exhaust sound system, can you let me know what your impressions are after you installed it and how advanced was the installation? Do you feel it was worth the price and installation? My local ford dealer offered to install it.

Let me know.

How has this affected your range on miles? I really want to get one but am still getting adjusted to the electric part and the mileage.

They’ll be adding futuristic/sci-fi exhaust sounds in addition to allowing end users to create and customize and even share their own creations/presets. Pretty freakin cool. Do I want my Mach E to sound like the Millennium Falcon? Naturally. How about a TIE fighter? Duh! A real propulsion sound is something I’m missing today and BORLA’s system fills that need for me.

Other automotive / EV parts/accessory vendors sell the kit too! Some slightly lower than Borla’s $1,600 price tag. I would pull the trigger today and get it if it was an even $1,000 (or cheaper). Im sure there is a premium markup on this product by Borla - I just think 1,600 is a few pesos too much.

I have been talking to Borla and all the are selling currently is the lite version. It only has 4 sounds and can't be changed. The non lite version is coming soon that will allow app control and the ability to download new sounds.

Years after it was promised. They make Ford's "soon" seem accurate.

From a Product Management perspective, the Borla Mach-e saga seems like such a tragedy... Cool idea, ambitious vision, horrible execution on that vision. They delivered a decent first swing at it, but they completely mismanaged their "deluxe" product development and launch on an epic scale. I'd love to see a happy ending, but the outlook is not good at the moment...
