Latest Update

I spoke to the GM at the dealership and he told me that they offered to drive the 200 miles to pick it up and charge it and bring it back but Ford wouldn't allow it. Apparently that would be a violation of the chain of custody or quality control process or something like that. Instead Ford has independent contractors to deal with this issue and unfortunately for me the closest contractor is in Seattle 300 or so miles from the car, and Ford is unable to give my dealership any sort of time frame for when these people will drive across the state to do whatever needs to be done. So we are now on close to three weeks and counting and no one who has any knowledge about what the problem could be has been to the vehicle, and there is no apparent urgency to get someone there.

Ironically some of the reasons I went with Ford over Teslas was concerns over build quality and what would happen if needed servicing since I live in Montana.

Latest update. It has now been a month since I was supposed to take delivery. The dealership told me earlier this week, On Monday, that whoever had do the jump/charging had done what he as supposed to do and that they expected I could pick it up today one their head mechanic had a chance to do an inspection. Of course by now I have no real expectation that promised delivery will happen, so I was not surprised when the dealership informed me that the car would not be ready for pickup and in fact was still in the railyard waiting for someone to transport it the last to the dealership.

In addition the social media person from Ford who monitors these conversations contacted my via DM and told me someone from Ford would contact me. Never happened. I also personally contacted Ford, and got a complaint number and was told to expect a call with an update. Never happened. Got to love Ford's non existent customer service.

I'm willing to bet that on the list of stuff to change on the next model version will be easier access to the 12V battery.
