So, this is an odd one. Just the black plastic part of my bumper seems to have a running crack. Everything around it is fine. I assume there was some sort of impact at some time, but I do not have a clue when. Looking back I think it was there for at least a month before I even noticed it. Any chance that's a defect? Or what it is going to take to fix it? Thanks!

It's a many hours job, because you have to remove the lower parts of the bumper first, with lots of connectors. That's like a $700 part as I recall. Good news is no paint required.

Agreed. It looks like the kind of job where you'll need to be sure you have all the right tools and manuals, and be 100% confident you're not going to screw it up. That said, I'd consider doing it myself if it were me.

I think something hit it. That said if you can find a matte vinyl that matches the color I'd just 'wrap' it. otherwise you might be in insurance territory.

Thanks for all of the replies. I may run it by the dealer just to see what they think. Otherwise I'm leaning towards the fill and "wrap" idea. Insurance is an option but I really have no knowledge of any type of impact on it.

It would be a comprehensive claim. I hit a small animal with my 2023. It broke that section, and put a tiny crack on the bottom of the bottom spoiler. Because I was making an insurance claim, that part was replaced too. As I recall, the part was close to $800 MSRP, but cheaper if you bought it from a Ford dealer online. Hours of labor to remove and replace. No painting needed. My total claim was around $2k.
