I just acquired a used 2025 Mache Premium with extended range battery and the Sport Appearance Package. It had less than 3,000 miles and is in near-perfect condition. The discount from the original window sticker was great--a year's worth of depreciation was reflected.
The following is an extract from an article in today's Wall Street Journal that validated my purchase, making my day! It is from an article entitled:
WSJ Readers Share Their Top Tips for Switching to an EV
Buy used
There has never been a better time to buy a used EV than right now. A wave of vehicles coming off leases and early adopters who are upgrading to new cars have led to a glut of used EVs that have pushed down prices.
Readers who have done the math on this really want their friends and neighbors to know about it. One in 10 readers who wrote in made this suggestion.
“Buy an almost-new used one!” writes Don Taylor, who lives in Panama City, Fla.
Depreciation on EVs over the past few years has been significantly faster than depreciation on conventional vehicles, in part because automakers have been lowering prices of new EVs so quickly.
“Depreciation is brutal, so find one in near mint condition and save a lot,” Taylor adds.
Sales of used EVs rose 12% in the first three months of the year, compared with a 28% decline in sales of new EVs.
