I would say on the Mach E, there will be very few that were true lemons. Mostly, it was the HVBJB failures and long repair times.
In my case, I had both. I had paint issues from the factory and needed a bumper replacment. It took nearly four months. The day I got it back, I got the Service Soon notification letting me know the HVBJB needed replacing. I already had a case open. It went back to the dealership and I completed my lemon law request.
I really think a lot of the Mach Es out there will be people fed up of waiting on parts or repairs. Ford was extremely quick to agree with me and I got zero fight out of them.
I need help because after reading about the issues over the HVBJB, I’m really concerned about driving our ā€˜22 MME Select. Have only owned it for 90 days, charging at home (regular house current - very slow I know but only using the car for running errands around town, shopping, Sunday drives, etc.). How can I find out the build date for this car - is there a site where I can enter the VIN? I’d like to know if our vehicle is at risk for contact overheating.

We might not drive many miles but I sure don’t want to be on the Interstate and lose power! Please help this senior lady feel good again about her dream car!

The sticker on the driverā€˜s door jamb will show the month/year of manufacture.

I need help because after reading about the issues over the HVBJB, I’m really concerned about driving our ā€˜22 MME Select. Have only owned it for 90 days; bought used with 1700 miles on it. We thought the price was good but did wonder why the original owner was willing to sell the car back to the dealer. Maybe because of this recall?

I read about people getting their vehicles lemoned because of infotainment bugs that were later resolved by software updates, some people are just impatient

Not something I worry about and I have a Job 1 2021. If it does fail, you won't be without power unless the vehicle didn't get the recall update. I'm sure it has it though, but might want to get a forum member to check.

Is the extended warranty available for California? I don’t see it on the drop-down list trying to get a quote.
CA used to be a state you could do this online for, but no more. I waited too long to pull the trigger. Our wonderful state passed a law making this particular type of online commerce illegal. ☹?

Well, ok then! Boy, do I feel silly. Thank you to the folks on this forum- it’s been eye-opening to someone who hasn’t bought a car in a dozen plus years. My second car (ā€˜66 & 1/2 bought in 1969) was a blue Mustang convertible 289 pony car. Loved that car so I was thrilled to see Ford make an EV. I’ve just now realized that I better start reading the manual more thoroughly - the times and technology have certainly leapt ahead.

Yep.
And sometimes the fix has included an entirely new HVB, so extra bonus.
And sometimes it's a massive problem that wasn't fixed, the title was laundered to be "clean" in a state with weaker consumer protection laws.

So... It's a bit of a crapshoot and one has to be careful, but some gems can be found.
I wouldn't buy any used vehicle without a CarFax or similar report.

The manual doesn’t make for very interesting reading, but it’s a great place to go with questions.

I have a 65 convertible sitting in my garage next to the Mach-E.

I’m jealous! My sister had the ā€˜65 red convertible and I had the ā€˜66 blue one. Wish we’d kept those cars! But now I’ve got the red Mach-E with this century’s safety features! Including seat belts which I don’t recall having back then. LOL!

Yes as said, the sticker on the door jamb will show the build date. If you want your window sticker, try pasting this into your address bar and add your vin after then hit enter / go.
