I have an early 2021 job 1. I don’t DCFC often. One of the last times I did was at a pretty new EA station in Booneville, Mo. My rate started at 162 KW and tapered to somewhere between 110 and 120 KW. There is an older and more used EA station in St. Charles that usually starts at 125-ish and tapers to somewhere in the 75 - 100 range. That’s when it working properly. One down-side to buying an 2021job2: there are a handful of little behaviors or functional areas that don't feel as polished as the newer car. Based on less than 12 hours of ownership:
.
- DCFC never got above 62 kW, rather than the ~100 kW average of the later model.
- BlueCruise hands-free, while available, was a bit ping-pongy and felt like it wanted me to take the wheel more than the '22 would have
I’ve never experienced the ping pong effect with BCHF, but I do feel it tends to not want to engage as quickly as it should on some highways. The service tech at my dealer says all Fords have that issue to some extent.
