No, that one doesn't work. You need a J2534 device listed here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/FJDSSupport?categoryId=247

(Once you select your country and language, the page errors out. Just open the link I posted again and it should work)

Others will work not on the supported list that are less expensive but they do have to be a J2534 device. Fake VCMs may even work.

That's true, but I first bought this: https://www.obdtools.net/goods-908-eucleia-wiscan-t6-j2534-diagnostic-tool.html

While FDRS recognized it has a valid J2534 interface, it failed when trying to update modules. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that they don't support updating Ford modules. Just wanted people to be safe when updating their very expensive vehicle

Yep, gotta do your research and make sure it supports ford module updates.

That would have been sync 2/MFT. They got rid of that feature with sync 3.
