Car alarm during software update?

Saw the recall software update and scheduled it for 8pm when we would be home. Everyone relaxing and car alarm starts going off right around 8pm. Could not unlock the car with key fob, but thankfully alarm stopped.

Is this normal?

No, doesn't happen normally but sometimes odds things can happen during software updates because modules are shut down temporarily. Did it complete successfully? I wouldn't worry about it too much if everything seems normal now.

Yes, seemed to complete fine…just a bit unsettling. Good thing I didn’t have it set to update at midnight.

Same thing is happening to me. Going off at 10pm while in the garage. Car unavailable during update. Quite an annoyance.

It happened to me too - good thing I knew the update was happening or I'd have freaked out!

I have my updates set for midnight because it’s highly unlikely we’ll be using the MME then. The recall update downloaded and was being installed this morning at midnight and shortly after the car alarm went off. Woke my wife up first. I eventually got up and waited until the 25 minute mark the app suggested it might take to apply the update. Finished right at 25 minutes, then the car shut back down.

Debating changing the timing before having 3.5.2 installed. Here’s hoping the alarm is a one-time occurrence. ?
