I think this is true for most paint colors with occasional exception. I have a friend with a basic white '99 Jeep Wrangler that has *never* *ever* washed it. It still looks great. It's not clean or shiny, but it looks good. And that's out here in the dusty desert.

A paint that does well here even when dirty is the silvery-gold metallic hue. It pretty much matches the color of dust that gets glued to our cars during monsoon storms. Like the one below. Except preferably not on a Honda since they have paint fade and peel issues (in my limited experience).

Oh and by the way, I'm second guessing my paint choice, too. I'd do that no matter which one I pick, though.
