Carplay to different app and back to Carplay

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else who uses Carplay could check if they experience similar behavior as I am.
If I am in Carpay with either Spotify or Apple Music (doesn't matter) on the screen, then tap a tile for the built in Nav or My Trip, and then go back to Carplay by taping the tile, I get my phones Favorites screen. Strangely I dont get the last app I had showing on the screen (Apple Music or Spotify).

Am I alone on this behavior? Its a small one but kind of a pain in the ass. Much thanks!

I think that is just how Carplay works. Any car I have been in with CarPlay behaves the same way.

No, I am clicking the tile below the app that is on display.

I think that is just how Carplay works. Any car I have been in with CarPlay behaves the same way.

It may be so, although Honda's we own don't seem to do this behavior. Of course, its a different underlying OS.

If you press the smallish icon on the top of the screen, next to the camera button, it will bring you back into Carplay as you left it. If you click the Carplay tile on the bottom, it will open Carplay to the phone on the favorite contacts list. It is a little annoying, I've just trained myself to not press the tile.
