I like that the center speaker and surround mode gives the sound a sense of fullness. It's probably not how the music was meant to be listened to when produced, but I feel it gives a sense of warmth and raises the music up from the door speakers. It also makes it difficult to pinpoint a particular direction the music is coming from, which I like. The only way I can describe it is being enveloped in sound rather than hearing sound from a specific location. Unfortunately, the new center speaker kind of kills that non-directional listening experience, if that makes sense.

I'm going to try the foam over the speaker to see if that helps. If not, I'll be looking for a different speaker without a tweeter. Thank you all for the advice!

I agree and would put foam over that tweeter. Personally, I removed the center channel speaker the day I brought the car home. I have no use for a center channel in any music audio system. Now, in a theater audio system that is a different story. 😊
I'll second this. The center channel helps form a center image for multi-seat tuning. If your passenger doesn't care too much about imaging, the center channel is hurting things for the driver almost as much as it helps. I don't run a center channel because I only compete in single seat competitions.

I posted after your reply, but just wanted to comment that there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting the music to sound how you want ;)

Listen to MJ walk across the stage on Thriller in your home, then listen in your car. This is imaging/staging. It's ok to not want that but it is something that B+O put a lot of effort into when they tuned the car.
