Mothers CMX Spray - Ceramic coated my new wheels over the weekend.

Damp application, dry and polish - four hour cure. Followed up by a heavier spray on application which I then wiped in, and polished off - let cure for about twenty hours.
Left my wheels with their satin finish.
I do hope this will allow me to remove brake dust a bit more easily. I’ll likely spray on and wipe off a coat after every other car wash.

Keep us posted on the results. I hadn’t thought of doing that. Maybe I should do the red calipers too. ?

Won't last very long sadly. I did the same a while back on BMW...CMX is one of the longer lasting ceramic sprays but it's not particularly well suited for wheels where you are generally using an acid or alkaline cleaner. If you use a PH neutral cleaner it will last longer but even then probably not more than a couple months.

Your plan to reapply often will likely work well so long as you're okay with doing the application often.

FWIW one of the absolute best products right now for consumer use and longevity is the Meguiars Hybrid Paint coating system. It's not Si02 but it's showing incredible durability better than many non-pro ceramic coatings and has very good chemical resistance.

Thanks - I’m worried about longevity which is the main reason I went with a spray on product (quick/easy to reapply) vs the wipe on applicator based treatments. I am sure it will not last as long; hopefully this just helps that little bit.

As to the Meguiars - I’ll take a look at that

My main reason behind this was just to more quickly remove brake dust, ideally with my normal foam canon/pressure wash cycle which I try to do every week or two.

Looking at reviews for any and all they are all over the place - hoping that as I took my time will allow this to at least have the basic functionality. I’ll keep y’all updated.

My vinyl wrap was professionally ceramic coated by the vinyl shop and a year later it’s still beading up beautifully. Prior to that; I had never once considered ceramic

Gyeon makes a couple products that work well for protecting wheels:

1) Gyeon Rim is a ceramic coating specifically designed for wheels:

2) A lot of people rave about using Gyeon Wet Coat on wheels. Wet Coat is a "spray and rinse" ceramic sealant. It is not as durable as an actual coating, but it is super easy and fast to apply. Just spray it onto clean, wet wheels, and then rinse it off:
