I’m not so sure that’s the case, because what I’m saying is that it IS changing outside of my charging times if plugged in. Like not even close, I can plug in at like 1:00pm and it will start charging even if my time window doesn’t start till 7pm.

I read somewhere that the departure time assumes you want to leave at that time with the battery filled up to your set percentage. That part I get, even if annoying. What I can’t figure out is why it’s immediately charging outside a window when it wouldn’t even need that amount of time to reach my set charge, window or not.

So your charging window goes from 7PM to ___, and you have it set to 90%. You set a departure time of 8:30PM, and plug in at 1PM, and it immediately starts to charge to get to 90%. And you don't have "charge when plugged in" selected?

I’ve learned the following since having the car for a week

EVERYTHING must be set in the car,do not trust the App for updating the Charging and DepartureTimes they never stay put.

Departure is just getting the battery and cabin ready, it has nothing to do with charging. This gets your car ready for optimal battery performance

Charging Time goes by two ways
- Custom a time set by yourself
- Electric Company Plan the plan that you’re setup with your local utility company

It’s very different from the EVs I’ve hadVolt, Bolt and a Tesla, Departure Time in their language is the car will calculate the time you need to leave and will start charging at a certain time to be ready when you walk out… MachE doesn’t have this, this I hope will eventually be delivered/developed for us… It will eliminate the two items you need to set and have only one item to set.

Hope this helps

Correct, the window is 7pm-11am and it is set to charge by schedule, not when plugged in. I plug in at 1:00 and it immediately starts charging and gives me my estimate to 90%. So weird.

I’m not sure why it’s doing it. But seems to only happen if there is an upcoming departure on that day. If no departure it respects the window and just waits plugged in until it’s time. I’ve learned to never trust the app so always set in car.

If all these settings are in the car, it does seem weird. The app can't be trusted.
