Wait till you hear about taxpayer oil subsidies
There are none. But that is irrelevant in a EV car forum, right?

Biden pushed for the infrastructure bill. That what was finally passed was different is the traditional political process at work. He got something done. Unlike Donald Trump's infrastructure bill which did not get out of committee.
Actually, promoting EV charging could/should benefit gasoline car owners. Having competition in the car fueling business (electric versus gasoline) should help slow down the steady increase in gasoline prices. How many gasoline car owners are considering buying an BEV as a result of the latest round of gasoline price increases? They did not have a choice before. Today, many of them do.

LMAO

Conservative estimates put U.S. direct subsidies to the fossil fuel industry at roughly $20 billion per year; with 20 percent currently allocated to coal and 80 percent to natural gas and crude oil.

It appears many people do not understand the definition of words, or they want to change definitions of words to make a political point.

That article you posted, Rick, is purely political. And for someone who has complained about politics in a car forum, I am surprised you would post it.

subsidy
noun

sub·si·dy | \ ˈsəb-sə-dē , -zə- \
plural subsidies
Definition of subsidy
: a grant or gift of money: such as
a: a sum of money formerly granted by the British Parliament to the crown and raised by special taxation
b: money granted by one state to another
c: a grant by a government to a private person or company to assist an enterprise deemed advantageous to the public

Intangible Drilling Costs Deduction - tax law, not a subsidy
Percentage Depletion - tax law, not a subsidy
Credit for Clean Coal Investment - tax law, not a subsidy
Nonconventional Fuels Tax Credit - tax law, not a subsidy
Last In, First Out Accounting - tax law, not a subsidy
Foreign Tax Credit - lax law, not a subsidy
Master Limited Partnerships - lax law, not a subsidy
Domestic Manufacturing Deduction - lax law, not a subsidy

If you want to have a discussion about the MME, don't bring up left wing political lies. This is not what this forum is for.

I’ll believe these policies will lower gas prices when we get lower gas prices.

Until then, I fail to see how giving government money to your competition will somehow lower your costs.

If the argument is that less demand for oil would lower prices, the hard part is that commodities don’t follow the same supply/demand price rules as other products.

My fuzzy crystal ball predicts gas prices continuing to rise as a result of more EV adoption and more “less favorable laws” towards the oil industry.
