Is there a trick to connecting your MME to your home WiFi? I’ve tried entering my passcode four times and it won’t connect. TIA

How's the signal strength at the car?

Check the language for your password. Make sure it's in English (America). I had the same problem and found this to be the issue.

I checked the language and I am set to English (US). I just have a regular Verizon Fios Wifi router and haven’t change any of the settings (other than the passcode). What am I missing? Thanks.

Does your WiFi password contain any backslashes (\) or double quote (") characters? If the password is used as a string literal in the programming that can cause issues. You can try adding an additional backslash escape character in front of those characters when you enter your password, or try changing you WiFi password so it doesn't have those two characters in it. I've had that issue before on certain devices, drove me crazy until I figured it out.

I had a Unifi system and it would not connect. Ended up installing an additional cheap off-the shelf router just for the garage and it now works fine.

It’s good. The router is directly above the garage. I also checked the English (US) keyboard issue noted by others here but still no luck.
The reason I ask is because I had difficulty getting my Infiniti to connect to my network earlier this year. It showed a couple of bars signal strength and my phone was connected, but the car would not connect. I turned on the hotspot on my phone and the car hooked right up. I have since installed a mesh network and both cars connect normally. So 'good' may not be good enough for the car's requirements. Try the phone hotspot test and see if that makes a difference for you.

Not sure about your setup but, I use ubiquiti and I had to remove the domain name in the network settings of my wifi in order to connect.

Thanks for the tip! My car hooked right up to a phone hotspot also. But, still no luck with the home network. So, would you recommend a Wifi 'extender' in the garage, even though the router seems to be so close?

Ok...I found this useful.

Before you buy anything, try the following:

Change WiFi password to something without special characters, like blue.

If that doesn't work, change the Network name to bob.

If neither works, your router is incompatible.

Verizon FIOS seems to be one of the systems the Mach-E will not connect with. I've had my MME since May 1st and have never been able to connect (although, like you, I can connect to my phone's hotspot).

At first, I thought it might be a weak signal, so I installed a Plume mesh routing system. That did not fix the problem even thought the signal strength in the garage is now at max. On the plus side, the wi-fi speeds throughout my house are now smokin'. (The Plume app is now telling me, "At 603 Mbps, Verizon FIOS speed puts your home in the top 1% of all Plume homes! That's pretty fly for a WiFi." I know, I know, their puns are bad.)

Despite their puns being bad, their customer service is outstanding. They tried to help me with connecting to the Mach-E. From some of their replies, it sounds like they even visited this forum to gather information! Unfortunately, their attempted fixes did not work, and neither did any of the others that were recommended on this forum.

I forget whether I saw it in one of these forum threads or elsewhere, but someone using wireshark or something similar determined that the Mach-E is requesting a particular parameter to be set to something that normally isn't used anymore. Most routers seem to ignore that request, but the FIOS router apparently complies. However, even though it requested it, the Mach-E apparently cannot handle the result. (I am a computer scientist, but not a network expert, so don't ask me for more explanation. Networking stuff pretty much starts to sound like gibberish to me after a while. :) )

The final suggestion from Plume customer support was to bridge the FIOS router and use the Plume device. However, that requires contacting Verizon to get a setting changed in the ONT box. From what I've heard, they're willing to do that; however, the change results in loss of some capabilities, e.g., internet via coax throughout the house. I use TiVo's instead of Verizon cable boxes, for which the internet via coax is very useful, but I believe there is also some loss of cable box functionality if you make the change.

The real fix should come from Ford, but I'm not even sure they're aware of the problem.

Thanks so much for the info. Bummer that it sounds like I’m out of luck with Verizon Fios. But, you certainly saved me a bunch of time and frustration!

Fingers crossed for an OTA fix from Ford. Thanks again.
