I have the free one year trial activated, but how do I know if its using Ford's network to download stuff, and not my phone carrier's network?

Is it the up/down arrow icon? Does that mean I can download music or whatever on Ford's 5g network?

https://www.ford.com/technology/connected-services/connectivity-package/

Also, what other channels should I listen to besides XMU? lol

That symbol shows that connected navigation is active.

The Ford App (formerly Ford Pass) has a connected services tab. It will tell you what is available, and it's status.

What do you mean by download music?

Any apps built into the car will use the car’s built in data connection.

Anything you use within CarPlay or Android Auto will use your phones data connection.

The connectivity package includes in-car WiFi hotspot so you can connect other devices to use the cars data connection.

The only caveat is you cannot connect your phone to the cars wifi hotspot and still use CarPlay/Android Auto at the same time.

Thanks for the info.

What do you mean by download music?
If I know the car is connected to Ford's network, and my phone is connected to the wifi hotspot from the car, I should be able to download/upload anything using the Ford network and not my phone carrier network. It would be nice to have an icon or something on the car screen letting me know what connection I have.

The only caveat is you cannot connect your phone to the cars wifi hotspot and still use CarPlay/Android Auto at the same time.
To do what I stated above, I guess Android auto needs to be disconnected. Bummer.

I was hoping once the Sirius Satellite trial runs out, I can use the my phone app to stream it using the Ford network and not my phone carrier's network (I have a subscription through another car, I don't want to pay for two subscriptions).

Cheers.
