Does anyone have a schematic diagram of the cooling system (21-22 models)?
Also how does the cooling system operate?
Especially when will the battery actively be heated?
Will it be actively heated during driving in cold weather? Or is it only using the waste heat from the Battery, electronics and motors?

The PTC heater is shared between the cabin and the battery. There is limited output, so it mostly does not heat the battery while driving unless there are very specific conditions, or you have selected a DC charger as a destination. Models before 2023.5 cannot use waste heat to heat the battery.

Since the Mach-E is not able to effectively heat its battery in cold weather while unplugged or driving, owners must be diligent about plugging in as much as possible and setting departure times for longer trips.

Another question.
When the battery will normally not be heated during a trip, what does it mean that under "This Trip" (In German "diese Fahrt") energy usage is shown for "Outside Temperature" (in German "Aussentemperatur")
This is during a trip without DC Charge conditioning.
My MachE is a 2022 model AWD ER.
The other categories are Climatizing, Driving, Auxiliary (Klimatisierung, Fahrt, Zubehör)

If "Aussentemperatur" is not for battery heating for what is that energy then used?

When it’s very cold, some energy is used to heat the battery. That falls into the “very specific conditions” Lee mentioned.

Do you know how cold is "very cold"?

Climate use = Energy used to power the high voltage PTC heater and A/C compressor. Includes battery conditioning.
Driving = Energy used to power the traction motors
Accessories = Energy used by the 12V system. Heated seats, wheel, rear defrost, lights, and radiator fan are included here.
Exterior Temperature = Estimated losses due to exterior temps (not an actual measurement)

Energy used to heat/cool the battery will fall under Climate use category.

Do you know how cold is "very cold"?
Heating the battery is dependent upon the cabin heat load, battery temp, state of charge, and exterior temp. It's difficult to figure out when it will happen exactly. It also seems to change slightly each powertrain software version. If the battery is cold enough, shutting off the HVAC will allow it to heat. Generally the battery wants to be above 0ÂşC, but the heating strategy may not become assertive until the battery temp is below -10ÂşC. If the battery is extremely cold (-20ÂşC), then cabin heat may be disabled in favor of battery heating.
