Could this be why it doesn't charge for you sometimes?

First, let me say that I've never had the car fail to charge in the 15 months that I've owned it. But....

Yesterday I drove to do some errands late in the afternoon. When I got home I parked in the garage and plugged the car in. At 5:40pm I got a notice from Securialert that my driver's door had been opened. That's odd, I thought, the car is in the garage with the garage door closed. I peeked in the garage and everything looked fine. Then at 7:20 pm I got another Securialert that the driver's door was opened. I didn't think anything of it until I looked at my charge status. It didn't have a start time and the estimated completion was blank. I wonder if the two were related.

I went into the garage and checked the charging cable. Looked fine. I reseated it anyway. The doors were locked and the mirrors were folded in. I didn't have my phone or the fob but, just to be safe, I opened the door via the keypad and then closed it again. When I went back in and looked at Ford Pass it now showed a completion time on the charging screen. Seems that the door sensor didn't think that the door was closed. It charged normally last night as always. I don't know if it wouldn't have charged but every indication was that it wasn't going to charge.

So, I'm wondering if any of you that have had charging failures have Securialert turned on. If so, did you get any phantom door opening messages? If you don't have Securialert turned on maybe you should give it a try.

Those were simply delayed Securialert notifications due to Ford server issues. As is the lack of information in FordPass. Keep in mind that FordPass does NOT control charging the car does. All FordPass does is send information to the car, or receive information from it.

I find when the app is lagging and it won't refresh that if I simply lock or unlock the car with FordPass that often triggers the refresh.

It's pretty amazing how we're this far into the car's development and FordPass is still so buggy.

They weren't delayed. I was up to date on my Securialerts after I had returned home from my errands. I'm OCD about them. Those two came out of the blue.

Get 21P22 done so your door modules are updated. They had some bugs in the early builds.
