Went with a couple buddies to the Tesla showroom behind ones business location.
On the floor they had Founders edition roped off for people to look at. Because the guy with the business has a Model Y and a Model X the showroom attendant let us crawl all over it?.
First off I’m not a fan of the angular form
factor.
I own a RAM 2500 Mega Cab that is huge but the Cybertruck gives the impression of enormity. This even though it is actually smaller. I believe though it is wider. So much so that I think it would be a challenge getting it in through an 8 foot garage door.
The Stainless body panels are like your refrigerator, fingerprints wherever you touch it. Tesla could take a page from that industry and use a coating that minimizes this.
We climbed in and the interior space was impressive. We are all over 6’3” and l’m 250 lbs, so big. I could sit in the back with 6” leg clearance. The front wind shield is ENORMOUS. You could have a kid sleep on the dash when camping.
Of course it comes with all the normal Tesla toys. It also has height adjustable suspension, This one was riding on huge tires that were custom made for the vehicle. The ground clearance was easily adjustable by selecting a number on the screen. It drops fairly quickly but takes a while to rise to the selected height.
Would I buy it? No. But that has more to do with towing capacity and range while towing. It could tow my boat but we are getting a fifth wheel and it won’t do that.
