We're taking a long road trip at the end of September and I'm mapping out Tesla locations that have 12 or more for the reasons y'all have been talking about...
Just circling back for anyone interested, I made a video of our trip….

It's been a slow process, but looks like A2Z is still making progress on the extension cord.

An extended video from Tom Moloughney on testing a beta version of the A2Z extension cable.

Some notes from the video:
  1. It worked, both for AC and DC charging. DC charging demo saw the same power that Tom would expect without any adapters or extension cables (caveat of cold temperatures).
  2. Production version will be about 5 feet long
  3. Target cost "around $300"
  4. Target availability late spring / early summer
  5. Specs: 1000V, 350A
  6. Temperature sensors at both ends of the extension cable, able to derate or end charging.

I agree that it doesn't need to be as long as the prototype, but I think it'll need to be a little longer than 5'. I'd suggest 8' - 10'.
