Dealer Lies?

Got a call from my dealer today with an update about my Mache GTPE. The dealer told me they were all told that GTs would not be produced in any fashion until October. Is anyone else hearing this? Seems odd as some on here have already gotten build dates for GTs of Aug. Just questioning this dealer as he has been pretty useless and doesn't ever seem to have any information about the car or process. Initially when I ordered my GTPE, he asked me what options were available as he was not aware of what you could get or what came listed as standard for a GTPE. Thanks in advance.

Don't know about your case, but my experiences with multiple Ford dealers last week have been hit and miss... I met people who are upfront and knowledgeable, and those who have no clue about a thing and try to lie to me with every chance they can get.

July 12th was the Job 1 date for GTs.

I thought that a couple of the guys in Job1 for the GT had PEs.

Perhaps "lie" is a bit strong in this case - the guy probably believes that he is correct. He may be going from some foggy memory or "what he heard from another guy", but in this case he has no reason to intentionally mislead you.

It could have been that the dealer meant that they won't start being delivered until around October. They are already building them.

My dealer reached out to me over the weekend as they fired the sales person I was working with and put somebody else in her place. He told me it would be built soon, so I asked for specifics. Here is what I was sent

"When we looked it is scheduled to be completed soon and Ford just received a huge batch of microchips so hopeful some of those early reservations will be fulfilled."

I'm in a trust but verify mode now. I was born in the morning, but not this morning.

Although I wouldn't necessarily agree with the language "not produced in any fashion", based on what we know from order tracking information, this is effectively the case. What we are seeing is GTs go into production - i.e. get a "Production Date" - on schedule (during their assigned build week), but so far no GT has been given a "Built" status nor a "Shipping Date".

In fact, no Mach-E appears to have completed assembly in over two weeks, and nothing seems to be leaving the factory (or at least not en route to a customer - they might very well be collecting in off-site holding lots). And, indeed, delivery estimates are being pushed all the way out to October - 10/31 to be exact - pretty much across the board.

It's going to be the most amazing Mach-E you have ever seen. We will be tired of winning so much in this Mach-E. There never has been a Mach-E like this one when it comes. People who don't have Mach-E are just losers.

July 11 was your build week. Anything started this week would have that date. The GT Job 1 was the 12th and that's the first work day of the week. Hopefully your car gets built quickly and delivered promptly.
