Display to show the Map, after an action

From time to time, I may change the channel am listening to (Sirius XM), via pressing the channel on the display.
Often, when I do, I then need to click on the Map icon, to take me back to the map display.

Is there a setting/option that will revert the screen to the Map display, after I have performed an action, like switching radio stations or something?

Failing that, it would be nice if when I changed a radio channel via the steering wheel controls, it said what the channel name was.

Unfortunately no.
Since Ford changed the UI earlier this year getting rid of the large tiles at the bottom multitasking has become a lot harder.

I usually run Apple Maps via CarPlay. When I choose one of the other options, the return to car play button is at the top of the screen.

We've only had our MME GT for about a month now, so I've not seen the "old" UI, but it does seem like a step backward. That being said, I worked with some of the Ford SYNC team in my pre-retirement life, and I know them to be bright folks. So I wonder why they made that change. To leave more real estate for the main app (but honestly, there is plenty of real estate to go around)? To improve responsiveness of the main app by not having other apps able to write to their respective areas on the UI? My BMW's iDrive 7 with its split screen function (and area in the instrument cluster for song title and album art for example) is way more useful to me.

Best guess I had was to simplify the UI with only one layout instead of two. In the previous UI the app you had open could run in “full screen” mode, which is what it looks like in the current UI, or it could be minimized to leave room for widget like tiles at the bottom. I understand the need to simplify the interface, but man in between solution would have been better.

When I change the channel, it briefly displays the new channel name at the top of the Sync screen. Yours doesn’t do that?

I just checked and it does. Albeit, when I change channels with the buttons on the steering wheel, am not looking at the main display…
