Looking for the best way / app to manage long trips from the big screen in the MME. Ways to show upcoming Fast Chargers, estimated miles left in the battery, etc. At our last 4 station last fast charge, one car had been unloaded from a flatbed wrecker and several of us pushed a second car, a VW, into his charging station because he was out of kWh. I heard Tesla’s have good information in this area of trip planning. I’ll go to school on YouTube if someone can give me directions but thought I would ask for other’s experiences first. So far, I’ve found the map on my phone to be a bit small if looking at a long trip. Thanks. Oh, and the ability to plug into my Ford Free kWh on the Ford network would be a plus.

A Better Route Planner is a good was to plan long routes and can be customized to your preferences. Plugshare is great for getting up to date info on how specific charging stations are working (or not). Apple Maps will give you charging info and can connect to your car to tell you when and where to charge. Lastly, lots of people use the built-in navy in the car and say it does a good job, though I have less direct experience with that.

Ford Pass has ā€œtrip plannerā€ where you create a trip, save it and then it syncs with the car. But ABRP is way better.

Also, Tesla has this but it sucks since they suck at predicting your range. You’ll regularly plan a long trip only to have to find a station way sooner due to the fail.

Just my 2 cents. Came back from a 1200 plus mile roundtrip this past turkey week. I do love ABRP BUT I found out that during 3 interstate shutdowns during major accidents and requiring a re-route to save time, the Ford map in the vehicle re-routed us effectively around all 3 accidents while ABRP planned to go through each one and would have gotten us stuck in traffic!
