Funny you should ask. The tech from the dealer came to my house today to do testing but were not able to replicate the failure. Also, it will only restart if I disconnect the battery. Tried other strategies to restart the car but nothing works except disconnecting the negative. The plan is now to wait for next failure and they will come back to see if anything shows up on their scans.

I just got mine back oct 17th. I do not believe my issue is resolved. I am currently targeting an issue with never getting any OTA’s. I’m not sure if it will solve the ā€˜no start issue’, but that’s what I want to do first. My car is also part of the latest recall for the HVJB. The Ford techs are waiting for parts I believe.
Do you have a camera button in your top left corner of your screen?
What version is your sync software?

Thanks for the response and letting me know the status. I do not have a camera in the top left corner of my screen. I have Sync 4 software version 21136….not sure if that is accurate, but here is a picture of the About Sync screen.

Thanks for any help or insight you can provide. This has been so frustrating and started 2 days after purchasing the car. I am going to drive it anyway since the fix by disconnecting the negative takes less than 30 seconds.

Seems that you are having OTA update issues as well. I have the same sync version, it is more than 2 years old.

This may have been mentioned earlier in the thread, but have either of you contacted the BEV team?
A few things that come to mind:
  • Other users that were not receiving OTAs got their cars "unstuck" by having updates loaded via FDRS at their dealers. Have you had any dealer updating done?
  • Not mentioned as related to starting, but early on some users had charging issues caused by ethernet over powerline systems they had installed at their homes. Something to consider as a source of interference.
  • Back when Cadillac first started using keyless ignition a no-start condition was eventually diagnosed as RFI from the fluorescent lights in the customer's garage. That one took a long time to figure out. I mention this only to illustrate that weird things you might never think of as problematic can sometimes cause issues.

I’m on my 3rd ford dealer for getting my car worked on. There have been multiple attempts. I’m happy with the service techs that are trying to currently solve it, but I am pretty sure it’s going to be a while for them to figure it out, if they ever do.
