Do I need WiFi?

Hi,

I took delivery of my MME last week. I already had a charger installed in my garage. But I have no WiFi access/connection in my garage. Do I need it to monitor charging or anything else?

Your car has a cellular modem in addition to WiFi. It will communicate via cellular in the absence of WiFi.

And yes, you need to "monitor" charging in that you setup charging in the car/app. Have you read the manual?

I did read the manual but I couldn’t figure out if my car needed to be on my WiFi system for me to use the app.

Car will use the internal modem and Bluetooth to communicate with Ford's servers and your phone (the app). Wifi would be used instead of modem if wifi was avaialble.

Some chargers have intelligence and communicate via WiFi. Since you have no WiFi in the garage, you'll likely have to set the charger to just provide a charge, and then the car controls things. Some chargers do require WiFi to setup, yours may not.
