Does regen braking not work when turning sharply? (1PD)

I had a new experience today where I was rushing back to work, and coming into the the parking lot, letting off the accelerator and regen braking (1PD) doing its thing, when I sharply turned into the parking stall and it felt like the car essentially went into Neutral and consequently sped up. I had to hit the brakes before hitting the curb. Never experienced that before, just curious (since I don't fully understand how the regen system works).

Thanks for any feedback.

Not I’m my experience. I find it slows more in turns, but assumed that was wheel friction adding to regen. Turning into a parking spot slows more as well, for the same reason possibly.

I have experience reduced regen when going over a bump before, like hitting a pothole or a hump in the road. I feel like that’s been fixed in recent updates though. Was there any bump in the road as you were turning?

No bump in the parking lot, just simply pulling hard left (admittedly at a bit of speed) and it just felt like regen "let go" and it was coasting freely before I hit the physical brakes.

I have experienced this. Turning sharply into the parking lot at work, the flesh of my palm brushed the "resume" button of the Adaptive Cruise Control, and the vehicle sped up towards a big green dumpster. It has happened twice, same sharp right turn into work. I feel the cruise control button should be more recessed, with small "gaurded" ridges to prevent inadvertent activation.

If ABS kicks in, which can be triggered by a bump, it will kill regen instantly. Can also be caused if a wheel bounces in the air.
I’ve had that happen on wet pavement and wheel bounce. Made me pucker a bit!
