Just drove to LA for a vacation and as I was about to order drive through, I couldn’t lower any of my windows from the driver controls.

I also couldn’t collapse the mirrors, control the mirrors, or engage child safety; the panel simply doesn’t work. I could lock and unlock the doors.

I can open other windows in their respective passenger door controls, but nothing from the driver controls.

Restarting the car doesn’t seem to fix it either.

Quick search of the forums doesn’t turn up anything. Any ideas?

Not sure this will help, but certainly can't hurt to try.

You have a B1088:87 code that says your driver's door module (DDM) is not communicating with the window switches on the LIN bus. I have not seen this before. Likely some sort of connection issue inside the door. Perhaps a loose connection or corrosion in a connector. That's probably going to require a dealer to take a look.

I'm guessing the windows will still go up and down if you use the buttons in the app.

Thanks for looking up the code! I'm on vacation or otherwise I'd check it myself with Forscan.

I didn't think to use the app yet. Honestly it's been a night of too many errors and I'm in my hotel for the night, but tomorrow I'll check. Since the other window switches work on their respective windows, I'm fairly confident that will work.

I'm afraid to take time during my vacation to deal with dealer crap, but I'm here till the 31st. What's the current recommendation for LA area service centers?

Hey there! I can look into your Mach-E’s window concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

Hello, I'm from Germany. My English is not very good. Sorry. I have the same problem with my Car. But only when I start my car via the app for preheating. Never before. Only when I start the car in the app. If I park the car and wait 30 minutes, everything will work again.

Welp... Looks like this just happened to me. Drivers side controls are completely unresponsive. All passengers are able to roll their windows up and down just fine.

@Mach-Lee do you know if there's a software update available for this?

Edit: The panel started to work again and I regained window and mirror controls about 12 hours later.

Hi there! I can look into your Mach-E's window concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Do you think the recent door updates might have also been released to address this particular issue? The SSM 51727 talks about false alarms, but doesn't mention anything about DDM loss of comms with the network. I'm just wondering if more than one problem was addressed by doing the door updates.

No, I don't think the door latch module updates have any effect on this issue since they aren't involved.

On all the cases I've seen, it seems like they just start working again the next day, so it's a random one-time glitch. Could maybe be caused by low battery voltage or something.

There is a lin bus between the window control panel and the DDM. When a button is pressed on the unit, it's transferred to the DDM via the single lin bus connection. If the command is for something on the driver's door, it will be controlled by the DDM. If the action is for another door like the passenger door window or mirror control, the DDM will send a commands to the PDM via the MS1 canbus. If the driver's door switches aren't responding while other door's local controls are working, it could be the DDM, the window control module, or the lin bus signal or return wire.

I was was just tagged with this problem. I tried restarting and rebooting. With no luck. Is this still a problem for anyone else?
