Ford Mustang Mach-E Ducted Hood Possible? IMG_7522

I don’t use my frunk. Which got me thinking, that’s empty usable space!

Has anyone explored a ducted hood mod? I cant stop thinking about how I would do it, but wow what a project. Any takers? Anyone tried it?

Ahh. So that’s a no. Cool that one exists somewhere. Looks like the ‘real’ version in europe isnt even getting that awesome hood. And there’s a missed opportunity with the grille here. This should be a big empty tube with a horse on a star hovering in the empty space.

Well Im interested if anyone follows thru. Thanks dudes!

You could try contacting Shelby to see if they will sell you the frunk lid and duct work. ?‍♂?

Gotta ask..........why would you put a scoop or ductwork on a MME??? Serves no purpose!

It’s not an inlet. It’s a cooling outlet. Cooling air for our cars is restricted by all of the frunk area clutter. The idea is to be able to make the cooling system more effective, allowing for either more power or more time under power. I believe Shelby gave up on that part of their version of the Mach-E due to other parts of the electricals being less robust than the cooling system. ??

Interesting. So better heat escape for environmental cooling, battery cooling, or both.

Also, in my imaginary world, if you make the inlet fairly large (like the whole ‘grill’) and the outlet smaller you get what we see on that Jag image I posted up front. Laminar flow across the windshield which A. Would radically reduce drag and B. May induce downforce at speed.

Many racecars use similar systems with S-tubes and ducting. With such a prominent snout and no junk in my frunk, it would seem a crazy but perfectly doable mod. Or just nuts ?‍♂
