I think it would more useful to have a powered rear-view mirror so that position could be tied to memory seating. But I've never seen that on any car.
I think Mercedes S-Class had them at one point.

How long before they broke? ?

Perfect example of a $90,000 car that was usually worth $30k once the warranty expired for a reason.

I would say that the materials are of uniformly high quality. There are some subtle areas where Ford cut costs:
  • Premium ICE mustangs that I’ve driven have ventilated seats. The Premium Mustang Mach e does not
  • Premium ICE Mustangs have proper fore and aft tilt power seat cushions. The Mustang Mach E does not
  • The Escape has a reclining rear seat back. The Mustang Mach E has a fixed position rear seat back
  • There is no rear ambient lighting in the Mustang Mach E (this was depicted in the early promotional materials)
Don’t get me wrong - it’s a great car and I love it. If you look closely though, you can see the areas where Ford had to make the decisions to contain cost (I’m looking at YOU remote frunk release ?)
I am happy the MME doesn’t have all those things, even though I am used to having most of them on my other cars.

Think how many more chips would be needed and I and others would have waited months more for the car.

I bought the most expensive Premium I could. I didn't think I needed the GT. But now all these little things are popping up that came standard on my Dodge Charger 2017 that I am now missing.

Does the Premium not come with an Electrically adjustable steering column?
I'll never understand why people buy a car without doing their research and then complain about the things it doesn't have. Was this an impulse buy?

SMH.

Oddly enough I have seen it. It was really weird but it is in the very high end luxury cars that most of mirror mortals will never been able to truly afford. It was one of those items that they threw in to make is more "luxury". With out memory seats it is just not worth it though and more of an annoyance in my book.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but did you ever check out the specs on the car and the available features?
An informed salesperson could have answered this and any questions long before a purchase is made.

Again no disrespect is implied,

Tony
Agreed, should have checked, but also, I had a dealer swear up and down and say that the acoustic glass and hands free lift gate were all still available on 22's when we ordered in March. Found out on this forum that was a lie. Almost a deal breaker, but we'd rather move to an EV now than wait for these to maybe (probably not) come back.

I cared more about how they cared for the vehicle when they got it to the dealership. I thought something like this would be standard in 2022. (Along with cooled seats...)
I'm mad about the cooled seats. Definitely wish that was at least an option.

I would venture to guess that an extremely small percentage of new cars in 2022 have a power steering column standard (or even available).
I'd actually be curious about this. The cars I've owned in this price range (high 50s+) have all had a power steering column. It's a nice feature to have, but honestly, not something I touched often so I'm torn on it. I really think it should be there, but not a deal breaker.

Mentioned it in my post above, but FWIW, our dealer mentioned multiple features that the 22's had when we test drove (the test vehicle was a late 21). Only found out after we ordered that Ford had updated (removed) some features after the 22s started. But I guess we could have searched forums more, but not a lot of people will do that.
