Eversource will give you $500 rebate on a "smart" EVSE, another $500 for wiring upgrades if you don't already have 240v available where you park, and another $200/year if you allow them to disable or limit your EVSE during summertime peaks (which you have to opt-in to for 2 years to get the $500 rebate).

Eligible EVSEs are the ChargePoint Home Flex, the EnelX Juicebox, and the SemaConnect Series 4 (which I have never heard of).

Seems like a no-brainer, except the ChargePoint's wifi seems to be failure-prone, the 48a Juicebox is out of stock, and the SemaConnect has no reviews anywhere I can find.

FWIW - My first chargepoint 32A failed twice under warranty, replaced both times at no cost, but I was getting concerned. My chargepoint flex 48A, about a year old now, has been perfect, WIFI and all, no problems at all. I am very happy with it.

I got the Juicebox last year to get the Eversource rebate. Good unit so far - would recommend if you can find one.

Have you applied for the program yet? Was it difficult to get the rebate?

Not yet. I ordered the ChargePoint and it arrived a few days ago, but it has to be installed by an electrician to be eligible for the rebate.
